On 12th & 13th of November, Ljubljana hosted the 38th National Food Technology Platforms meeting, bringing together representatives from multiple national Federations and FoodDrinkEurope.
The event served as a unique platform for key figures from the European Food Sector to present multiple ongoing EU projects and foster dialogue among stakeholders.
Participants had the chance to exchange insights on best practices and explore innovative strategies to enhance collaboration, strengthen networks, and create more effective and impactful synergies through the National Platforms.

During the meeting, Eirini Xaxiri, SEVT’s Project Manager, presented WASTELESS Project, offering detailed insights into its objectives, the methodology followed, and the innovative tools developed and implemented to support the Project’s goals. The presentation highlighted how the methodological framework and systemic toolbox of WASTELESS Project are designed to provide stakeholders throughout the food value chain with reliable, comparable data and actionable insights, empowering them to make evidence‑based decisions that reduce waste and improve sustainability. Ms. Xaxiri’s presentation underlined the Project’s commitment to advancing resource efficiency and supporting the transition toward more circular systems in the food sector, by not only quantifying food waste but also offering practical tools that facilitate long‑term reduction, reuse, and valorisation of unavoidable losses.
Overall, the meeting provided a valuable opportunity to strengthen networks, share best practices, and identify future collaborative actions to drive innovation, competitiveness, and efficiency across the European Food Industry!
